Weathering the Storm

Tonight we quit. Not because we wanted to…because we had no choice.

The blowing snow and dark made safely locating anymore newborn calves in need impossible.

As I drove out of the last calving pasture, I cried, said a prayer, rubbed the calf on my lap, and wished the girls good luck.

Our life is hard to understand, especially if you have no experience with raising livestock.

But, we really do give all we can to taking good care of God’s creatures, and we appreciate your prayers.

Snow covered cattle

Snow-covered cows in this spring blizzard cause us worry, but the snow cover also indicates healthy, well-insulated cattle whose bodies are keeping them protected.
